Brand spanking new from Audiority is the PLEXITAPE! The Plexitape is a plugin based on the Maestro Echoplex EP-3 vintage tape echo. The Echoplex was a massive part of music in the 70s and the worship has continued into more modern eras as well as modern genres.
Albert Lee, Eric Johnson, Jimmy Page, Kurt Cobain, Frank Zappa, Brian May, Eddie Van Halen, Alex Lifeson, Neil Young, Andy Summers, Wes Borland, Duane Allman, Joe Walsh, Randy Rhoads and a massive list of others have used the Echoplex to create legendary tones on some of music’s most acclaimed albums. Now, YOU can use the plugin version to do the same!
It fits in your signal chain the same ways you would use a delay plugin and it can create some of the most lush atmospheres you’ll hear for guitar, synth, vocals and really however you choose to use it. It can also be used as a delay, slapback and so many other applications. The preamp can also be used without echo as a way to give your tone a different warmth and character. The EP-3 is the Echoplex sound of the ’70s for the most part. It used solid-state technology. They were designed to be more reliable than their predecessors and can be found for much cheaper. The FET preamp in the EP-3 is the circuit that players and builders reference when they talk about bypassing the echo all together and using the Echoplex exclusively as a preamp for it’s ability to add it’s own characteristics. The EP-3 comes in a black box and most have the multi-colored Maestro logo on the front.
Audiority put a ton of work into this plugin to ensure that it gives users all the unique and signature abilities of the original and more. Head over to www.audiority.com to have a look at the Plexitape today!!
